Call of Duty is a fantastic shooter on any level, and despite taking place in the increasinly clique WWII setting it sets itself apart from the competition. Gameplay in CoD is immensly satisfying. The weapons in the game are extremely satisfying, and the enemies even more satisfying to kill. The sound of CoD really sets it apart from the rest. This sound creates an unprecedent intensity in the game. More so than any war shooter before, CoD really feels like you're there, fighting alongside comrades in an epic struggle. Graphics are great, gameplay is great, sound is fantastic, and it features a not-exceptional, yet still satisfying single-player campaign.
