It's Capcom arcade nostalgia on the go.
For the most part, the games are emulated quite well thanks in no small part to the efforts of Digital Eclipse, a team known for this stuff. The package includes twenty games from Capcom's catalog--all retaining their original source material with little to no load times.
Perhaps one of the most notable additions to the package is the inclusion of the original Street Fighter--yup, THE game that gave birth to the behemoth that would be Street Fighter 2. Unfortunately, the game is virtually unplayable due in large part to the fact that hadoukens and shoryukens are EXTREMELY difficult to pull off, even when you think you got the timing right. It might ease any ill feelings to know that for the following sequel, much refinement has been made to the system. However, that said, it might have been nice if Capcom or Digital Eclipse fixed the original Street Fighter's timing problem for today's gamers, but I suppose they were clearly intent on a 100% arcade-perfect incantation so you get Street Fighter in its entirety......sadly.
Street Fighter notwithstanding, the other games in the collection control just fine. Final Fight's also included, and it's been a dream of mine to play this game in its arcade form while in the backseat of my friend's car! Apart from that, each game can be tweaked to optimize performance, and some games like the top-down shooters (1941 and Varth) can be adjusted to enhanced mode for an easier playing experience seeing how it's quite difficult to play such games verically.
Overall, this is a good collection of Capcom arcade games to play while travelling. With arcades on a serious decline, there's a great need for these arcade game collections. You'd do well to pick this up and relive, or experience for the first time, the golden age of arcade gaming.
