Old-skool but inspired!

Castle Crashers is a game meant to be played with friends - a surprisingly rare occurence. I cannot recommend this game enough, it brings back all the old satisfying compulsions of unlocking secret characters and weapons, as well as offering just enough depth for the combat and exploring to remain fresh for at least two-three play throughs. Character and level design is unique and charming, bettered only by the superb original soundtrack and the off-the-wall, Newgrounds humour.
My only complaints revolve around the differences between unlockable characters; they exist but in many aren't easily differentiated, and online connections are notoriously flaky at the moment, although a patch is promised and imminent. However, with DL content in the offing, this is a game that will surely only get better.
A must buy, especially if you have one or more friends in person to play through it with.
