Enter Dracula's castle if you dare.
The story of Aria Of Sorrow takes place in the year 2035,so this is the first Castlevania game not set in the past. Soma Cruz (who looks like Alucard from Symphony Of The Night) is a high school exchange student studying abroad in Japan. The first full solar eclipse of the twenty-first century is about to begin and crowds of people have gathered into a sacred shrine to see this memorable event. As he and a girl named Mina Hakuba makes their way to the shrine strange things starts to happend and the both of them were knock down unconscious. When they awake the sun is already covered by the darkness and they find theirselves in front of a confined castle. Thus is the start of an adventure that no one will never forget.
The gameplay is still very much the same as like in the previous Castlevania games. Soma can equip various kinds of weapons such as daggers, spears, swords to use as he explore the monster infested castle. there are also various accesories you can find and also equip them to make your more powerfull and to raise your stats. Also Soma has an ability to absorb enemies souls and gain their powers. Everytime he kills an enemy there is a chance he will absorb its soul and gain its powers but there are more than a hundred types of enemies so this may take a while to do. Soma is also a usual Castlevania hero so be sure to gain his abilities to double jump and even to fly to help you reach Dracula's chamber. Aria Of Sorrow would not be complete without its ultra hard boss fights. Some of the boss are a major pain but you will find them easy when you use the right tactics on them. Also when you kill an enemy you get experience points so leveling up is a must to improve the stats and to make Soma even more stronger.
Aria Of Sorrow's graphics is even more smooth compared to Harmony Of Dissonance. It looks so sharp and with the graphics of the Game Boy Advance it so impresive looking. The sounds and musics too have improve and it gives unforgetable excitement to the game. Aria Of Sorrow has also unlockables when you beat the game and also some secrets that needs to be discovered. Some areas need some backtracking for instance and who knows what you will discover on those secret areas. Either way its an extra challenge that everyone will surely enjoy. To wrap things up, Aria Of Sorrow is definitely the best Castlevania game that made it to the Game Boy Advance. So if your a die hard fan of the series, you will find this a worthy addition to your collection.
