AWESOME GAME OVERALL

User Rating: 10 | Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow DS
Castlevania:Dawn of Sorrow was the first game I ever played for DS. I played it back when I was 14 in 8th grade in Middle School. Years later, I'm 19 in college and after buying and playing it again I still enjoy the game as much as when I first played. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow has you once again playing as Soma.
This time, Soma has to worry about a religious cult leader and 2 dark lord candidates as Soma once again travels to Dracula's castle to put a stop to evil. Soma has the usual controls, along with pressing a to form a critical attack. In addition to, Soma wields the powers of the dark lord in the form of souls. When you defeat an enemy you have a very low chance of having an enemies soul coming out and becoming yours. This leads to all kinds of unique abilities, such as growing a manticore tail, tossing axes, and being able to eat unedible food to name a few. Souls can be used with up y, r, and automatic ones that you just equip. There are 3 categories of souls that go with the commands I mentioned above.
Furthermore, souls have levels; collect more of the same soul and the level will increase with most of them, resulting in higher damage and less mp. Another nice thing is the bosses of the game are very well done. All the bosses require some strategy, some more than others, and in addition to this almost all the bosses, when the rich 0 health, require you to use the touch screen to draw a magic seal to banish them away. If you fail to do this the fallen boss will come back with 25% of it's full hp.
Another nice bonus, is after you complete the game you can play it again as the allies who helped Soma ingame. Also, by completing Boss Rush mode, you can unlock weapons and armors, such as a RPG launcher and Death's Cape. In conclusion, if you're looking for a good game to put your time into on DS, look no further. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Offers this and much more.
