Castlevania:sotn, wow this game has done wonders to the cv(castlevania) name. The game starts you out with Richter Belmont at the end of dracula X as you walk up the staircase and fight the last boss Dracula. Then after a short intermission the game shows Alucard who was a side character in castlevania: 3 running through the dark forest to dracula's castle. Alucard sealed himself away after cv:3 but now his homeland calls for him again. Sotn does a beyond great job at making the atmosphere that is castlevania. cv has always been about stiff controls but Konami's team has completely restructured that and it makes the game incredibly easy to control. the characters, story, sprites, and enemys all merge together to create the perfect combination and today it's like a fine wine. It was an instant classic back then and now its beyond a classic it's a jem that should never be forgotten. Sotn joins the ranks of ff7,mgs,super metroid, and all the other games of it's era.

Sotn combines action, adventure and rpg elements to formulate a perfect battle system you will always be lusting for just one more kill to get Alucard stronger. Graphics, well let me start out by saying it's rather ironic that the playstation first introduced 3d graphics and in the end ONE of the best games on the system would be a 2d game. But these graphics were one of a kind probably the best 2d graphics i have ever seen in my life they still look amazing even to todays standards. Yes this game has withstood the test of time when it comes to graphics, these graphics will never look bad.

Sound the soundtrack for this game is just breath taking you wont believe that it's video game music. It has the original castlevania feel and music along with orchestra, techno, hard rock, and retro. This soundtrack alone is worth buying the game and it is a close call to what is actually better ff7 or this soundtrack i guess the world will never know eh. Sound effects yes these are the best in the series hands down. These sound effects are even classic, from the sword slashes to slicing open a lantern hanging from the ceiling. The bosses, enemys and weapons combine some classic sound's.

Bottom line if you dont own this game already do anything you can to get your hands on it and when you do dont give it up for anything. It's a rare jem and it's something to hold onto forever. From the gothic atmosphere to the core gameplay this will be one to remember for generations to come.
