A solid game with great replay value

I've had this game for YEARS & still enjoy playing thru it every so often! As Alucard, you move thru the castle in an almost non-linear fashion - lots of backtracking! There's TONS of items & weaponry to be unlocked, plus new abilities for our hero, which can be accessed by defeating select enemies or repeated usage of existing skills. Also, equipping certain items enhances the possibility of getting a really sweet weapon or hard-to find potion, so going back to cleared levels has its own rewards. Try getting 100% of the castle explored (hint hint, you'll probably need to do some transformations....). One of the last great side-scrollers for the Playstation system, it still holds up reasonably well graphically & gameplay-wise. Any fan of the the CASTLEVANIA series should definitely enjoy this installment.
