Symphony of the night does a lot of stuff really well. it's only major mistake was releasing on the ps1. people were just starting to enjoy the magnificence of 3-d games. symphony didnt make that jump. instead it decided to stick to its 2-d roots, and perfect on it's formula. it does. it works and plays beautifully for 2-d. but at the time i'd outgrown 2-d. only now, almost ten years later, do i want to go retro...back to the games of old.
If you can look passed it's bad timing. SotN was an excellent platformer, and in my opinion the best in the entire series to date.
i'm just not a fan of the series. if you're looking for a vampire action game, go pick up bloodrayne 2. if you dig on vampire platformers, then by all means...it doesn't get better than SotN.
