Blast from the past
You play, once more, as Christopher Belmont, who is a forefather to the famous Simon Belmont. He is equipped with the traditional castlevania weapon; the whip. you also have your traditional subweapons; holy water, crosses, axes and knives, and a stopwatch. These you use to defeat traditional castlevania monsters such as skeletons, eyeballs and armor. At the end of each traditional stage, dungeons, castle corridors, a clock tower and the likes you face a traditional levelboss. Halfway there's a halfway-boss. The graphics are a bit blurry, especially if you have a wide screen and stretch it up, but they do the job. The music is very good, but nothing you haven't heard before in other Castlevania's.
The game is very short and intended to be finished in one go. Fortunately, there is a level-select. With the cursor on "start game" press the move-button to the right and you get to choose from all stages you have beaten on your current difficulty level.
Without this i would have probably not have beaten the game, because the last level before Dracula "Clock Tower" is very hard. And when you have been playing for some time you tend to get tired.
This is not a must-play game, but it was a joy to beat Dracula once more.
