is a remake of symphony of the night unlockable? heh heh

User Rating: 9.5 | Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles PSP
I got this game before the weekend and played it through in a night. while playing, i saw an incredible amount of unlockables; the 2 much hyped 2d games and a lot of music, then i found the maidens you're supposed to save... so far tera in alternative stage 3 and iris in alternative stage 4... then it hit me. what if i save annette too?! and then kill shaft AFTER KILLING DRACULA. instant magic!

This game ROCKS!!! it's all the spooky fun and campy monster goodness i remember castlevania to be good for and then some. Fun and addictive thanks to the amount and value of the unlockables.

graphics : the game remake genre is peaking! apparently konami has the formula down and though i appreciated their shmup collections in the past (gradius, parodius, salamander and twinbee portable!) they were lacking the upgrade to 3d. THIS game has that and the thrill of playing is amped up thanks to the new look. kudos konami on keeping the feel alive!

sound : all my favorite castlevania tunes alive (?) and well. nothing out of place. you can even unlock new tracks for the game to play. perfect.

gameplay : i never finished dracula x (for snes) or rondo of blood (for pce), though i got to play them both on emulator :) they ARE the same game! this remake does justice to the gaming goodness of the original and expands on it! you'll see what i mean if you played the original then played this and experience a new bigger thrill in seeing the enemies intro'ed in 3d right before the fight and cutscenes advancing the story more in the vein of sotn than belmonts revenge.

production : drop dead gorgeous

the remake doesn't last long if you just wanna finish it, but if you want to see all the work put into making this a classic, you'll search for the unlockables like i did and you'll find even more value to a truly value-packed exclusive to the psp. sure you'll die a lot of times to get it right or to kill the level boss or just to traverse a particular hall, bridge, passage or cemetery but succeeding is a rush in itself! hail the umd, your champion is belmont.

the bottomline is this : BUY THIS AND TREAT YOURSELF
