Challenging old-school scroller gets a slick facelift.

This game is hard.
I've been playing it non-stop since it's release and I'm not anywhere near finished. That's a good thing. I like my games to challenge me to the point of throwing objects at the screen and screaming profanities. Those damn flying bats. Now, I had never played Rondo of Blood before, so this was new to me. Symphony of the Night is a totally solid game that I've had on my PS3 for some time now, but the game is so good, I've started a new file on my PSP.
Konami doesn't give it to you all at once though. You have to complete certain requirements to unlock Symphiny of the Night and the original Rondo of Blood. On the one hand, it's kind of annoying to those who just want to play SON right out of the box, but it's also kinda cool that it forces you to see how well they've touched up Rondo. The 3-D graphics and character animations are pretty amazing. It's cool to play a Castlevania game that finally looks this way. I'd recommend this game to any hard-core Castlevania lovers or even a first time player.
