Great Package: 3 games in 1, but very VERY hard.
The main story in DX Chronicles was a re-mastering of the original game known as Chi No Rondo for the PC Engine Super CD in Japan. The original was never released in the US (although a re-tooled one was made that utterly bombed) and was a much sought after game in the Castlevania series.
[Pros]
The package itself is great considering you are able to unlock the Original that was on the PC Engine Super CD and Symphony of the Night, another great, if not the greatest, Castlevania game.
I love the remixed tracks, because they bring a new feel to the original soundtracks that have become synonymous with the Castlevania series.
The dubbing is also okay for the most part and some of the text and voices were updated in SoTN.
[Cons]
I wouldn't say the graphics are a real con, because there is only so much you can do with a side-scroller in 3D. But, nonetheless, it could use some improvements when compared to others great PSP games out there.
FInally, be warned, this game is VERY hard. DX Chronicles was the last game to use the old formula before it was switched a more RPG and fluid movement feeling. That being said, the game may feel stiff and frustrating at times (you'll feel the agony with the retarded back jump Richter has). However, if other people were able to finish it and learn how the characters operate, there shouldn't be much of a problem.
That being said, I hope this review was insightful for those of you debating whether or not to buy this game. Regardless, enjoy.
