Good looking but lacks the required quality. This game will make you happy with the way it starts and with its many uniq
Championship manager series have an interesting story behind them which led the original title to a shift from its original creators SIGAMES to the guys at BGS because of commercial problems I think and while the 2006 series was developed by BGS despite the barrowed similarities between this and new title series by SIGAMES called soccer manager the overall quality of the game declined. Although there are a dozen of great new features in the game for psp including the possibility to customize the formation and even creating attacking and defensive patterns for the players which is great for a game on psp but the controls especially when you want to edit your team formation are really annoying and you can hardly notice which player you are selecting. Anyway this a really minor problem of the game and the nightmare begins when you start your first match. The match commentary is awful and you can barely read it because its speed is like a jet plane even if you are a native English talker so you can not understand what is happening on the pitch and you can not change your tactics according to it. The pitch view is worst than the commentary. Its ugly yes but this game is not about graphics so you can not blame the developers for the technical aspects of the pitch graphics but this kind of graphics in these games must be informative and the game can not provide you a useful overall picture of what is going on the pitch. In medium speeds it will play like a movie in fast forward mode and you barely see a thing. In the end you can not even understand how your team scored its goals unless you read the match report which will reduce the enjoyment of the gameplay so this game will show you some interesting tweaks at first but when the real thing is getting started your hopes snow will melt in the heat of the sun of disappointment. Graphics:
You can barely see much real graphic in these kind of games but the true goal behind the graphics in these games is how much informative is it? In this aspect the game does not look too successful. Working with menus can be a painful experience in most of the cases and it seems the only factor which was not considered by the developers is the simplicity. When a match is starting you will have 2 options to view the match. First you can watch a rather simple 3d presentation of the events on the pitch from your desired angle of view which is tremendously fast even when you set the options to slow down the pace of the game you can not practically see the ball!!! And you will have to turn the ball trail option on in order to be able to do that and even in this mode you can barely understand any useful thing by looking at the game. The other option is to follow the game just by watching the commentary sentences and unfortunately this option is as painful as the first one with its super fast speeds of the texts and un-adjustable! Nature of it too it is really hard to understand what is going on even for native English speakers so in the field of graphics this game looks colorful and full of different menus but is not informative and understandable which is the most important factor for this genre of games. Sound:
There is not much about the sounds too. Just many other games in this genre you can only hear the stadium crowd voices during the matches which is not an important thing to mention or remember in the game.
Value:
If you only want to kill your free time in the worst manner possible and feel that you are the best manager in the soccer world without even being able to fully watch your team matches then this game is for you! I rather stick to the soccer manager series for PSP which is not perfect but really much better than this one.
