Charlies Angels. A game said to out-crap the infamous ET Atari 2600 by Gametrailers. But they didn't include Crash Bandicoot 2 in their top 10 Playstation games so how can I hold the internet to the truth of anything? Answer: Never. So I gave this game a go and I must say. No where near its not as bad as people say it is. Instead its just as bad as every beat em' up squared. And heres why
Story
Charlies Angels is based off a boring movie of the same name based of a 70's television show of the same name with the lovely Farah Fosset.
Tragedy strikes as the statue of liberty has been stolen. Now the 3 spyettes must get it back from Krispen Glover!
How would you even go about stealing a statue of liberty? We'll never find out.
Simple as that.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Charlie's Angels happens to be very generic. It's a side scrolling 3D beat em' up. It's only 6 levels which is all I can take.
The move set is very very basic. I mean you do learn new moves. But otherwise it's the same shit over and over again. Punch, kick, spin punch, Power, grab, melle weapon.
The melle weapons are blunt objects. Bottles, knives, ect. OH! And you get explosives!
You will get various puzzles. All basic.
I find this game to be very dull. Why must these experienced spies take on the world with an all out fist war instead of sneaking around and snapping necks? I don't get it.
I guess its cannon. I never seen the TV show. I just know the movie is bad.
On the quality of it all. It's very tedious and strict. You will be restricted by invisible walls and other things.
You can collect items for bonuses.
What is cool though is you can target enemies. Otherwise, this game is hell.
Graphics
Oh dear, where do I begin? The graphics are terrifying.
The enviroments are filled with dirty textures,( I don't understand did they rip these from a Saturn game?)the screen resolution is rather low, the models are very bad, yes its common to have blocky 3D models on 6th gen hardware but not only are these rather angular at times but they are just poorly modeled for the most part. Lucy Liu looks like Micheal Jackson. Drew Berrymore is scary more with her thinning hairline and OWO wolf face. If you leave these characters idoling for a few minutes they will dance and it is cursed.
Charlies Angels will lag at times but stay at a consistent frame rate.
The cutscenes look aight.
But the lighting effects are pretty good in most places. At least theres that.
Sound
Well the cast does a good job as sounding as early 2000's as possible.
Generic funk music about.
Terrible.
Turn the volume down.
Overall
It's no where near as bad as people say but yeah. It's pretty damn bad. Don't waste your time with this. Get Mario Sunshine instead.
