While most racing games are enjoyable, well controled, and exciting, Checkered Flag is not.

The graphics are bad. They go at a slow framerate and the car is slow. I know that the Atari Jaguar is not fully 64-bit, but still, the SNES with the chip in it can do much better than this. Just look at Stunt Race FX.

The gameplay is just as bad. You will crash into walls when you try to turn. The controls are very loose. The CPU's run on a set track, so you have an unfair advantage over them. They can run on the track and not crash, but that's what you'll do at your best effort!

The sound is repetitive. Everytime you start a race, you'll hear somebody yelling "Gentlemen, start your engines!" and the driving sound doesn't sound like you're driving. The music is the only thing that saves this from getting a 1.0, because it's decent.

Gentlemen, do not start your engines to get this game.
