Hands down, the most addictive puzzle game of the eighties. Tetris can kiss my ass.

I played this game when it was only a few years old, on an early 90's PC. I could rarely put it down. I had an entire sheet of paper dedicated to writing down the passwords to the levels, in case I needed to start over.

The game starts out with eight levels called "lessons." These lessons aren't hard; they're more of a tutorial to get you in the swing of things. It's the ninth level, "Balls of Fire," that will start ruffling your feathers. The levels get progressively tougher as you go, to the point where you will probably die within a few seconds of starting the level. Some levels are so long and so tough that you will actually give up a few times, but just like Ninja Warrior, the draw of total victory is too great for most. I've never beaten it, but I'm not giving up.

It's not just a maze of obstacles, however. There are monsters also. Each have a specific move pattern. For example, pink balls go back and forth and turn 180 degrees every time it comes into contact with something. Blue tanks will stop when it hits anything except the protagonist and turn 180 degrees when something steps onto a blue button. The most fearsome of the monsters is the teeth monsters (not tooth, but teeth), because they don't have a predetermined path except to chase you and take the shortest path toward you. You can't beat them, but you can outsmart them. They cannot comprehend barriers like walls, dirt (explained later), or other impassable objects. You can trap a teeth in a place and they won't get out unless you go around and step on the side they can get out on. They're also twice as slow as you are, so you can outrun them and get around them if you need to. Every monster is invincible. You die if you touch them and you have no weapons to get rid of them; your best bet is to get the hell out of the way.

Of course, you're not alone in your quest. While nobody will help you, you do have tools. Keys can open doors of the same color (there are no universal keys, though). Dirt is impassible by monsters, but becomes regular ground if you step on it. Gravel is my favorite, because it's hollow ground; only you can cross it. Step on gravel, and you're safe. Then there's blocks, which you can use to keep buttons pressed and turn water into dirt. Copy machines are unique; they are good when they create tools, bad when they create monsters. There are four shoes: Swimming flippers, ice skates, fire boots, and suction shoes. They make you invulnerable from drowning and burning and allow you to walk on ice and force floors.

You have to use the tools to overcome the obstacles and get the chips. It's a lot tougher than it sounds. Download it, if not on a mobile phone, then on the Internet. It's worth it.
