Oh Man This Game IS So Great. Probably The Best RPG Game For The PS1. I Mean Everything Is Just Awsome. The Sound, The Gameplay, The Graphics, And Everything Is Just Amazing. A Very Touching Storyline Indeed. If You Played Chrono Trigger The You'll Love Chrono Cross.
The Main Protagonist In This Game Is Serge. Like Chrono Trigger's Crono, Serge Does Not Have The Ability To Talk. He Resides In Arni Village With His Mom And His Freinds All Over Town. His Best Freind Leena Is Waiting At The Port When Serge Is Late. For This Serge Goes To Get Komodo Dragon Scales And Make Them Into A Neckclace In Return. Once He Heads To Opassa Beach To Give Leena Her Scales, His Journey Finally Begins. As A Voice Calls Out To Serge He Wonders Whats Happening. When He Looks At The Ocean He Sees A Huge Wave Coming His Wave. He Has These Dreams And Is Feeling Hurt. He Collapses While A Dimensional Swirl Takes Him To 10 Years Ahead Of Time. He Wakes Up To See That No One Remembers Him. Not Even Leena..... He Finally Sees That People Talk About A Boy Who Died 10 Years Ago Named Serge. This Really Shocked Him. He Goes To See His Grave When He Is Ambushed By The Acadia Dragon, Karsh And His Two Companions, Solt And Peppor. They Choose To Take Him Away Until A Girl Named Kid Comes And Saves Him By Running Them Off. Kid Is Pleased To Join Serge As They Find Out One Thing. The Truth About Serge....

An Excellent Feature In The Game Is The Element System. Elements Are Like Magic That Are Equipped To Themselves. If You Played Final Fantasy VII, You Must Know About The Materia System. Elements Are The Exact Same Thing. Whenever A Person's Star Level Increases You Can Have More Element Slots To Put Elements In. You Can Buy Elememts At An Element Shop And Equip Them. However, The Elements Have A Certain Level That They Can Be In. A Character's Element Level Can Increase Slot By Slot But They May Have 6-Lvl 1 Slots, 5-Lvl 2 Slots, And 1-Lvl 3 Slots. It Goes Up To Eight For Most Characters Which Means The Better Elements. If You Equip An Element That Is In A Slot Greater To Its Level, The Damage Or Accuracy For That Goes Up By The Slot You Put It In. A Level 2 Slot In A Level 5 Slot Will Make The Element A +3 Effect. The Same Goes For Putting An Element In A Lower Slot. The Damage Or Accuracy Will Be Reduced For The Slot Thats Lower Than The Element's Level. A Lvl 7 Element In A Level 4 Slot Will Decrease The Element's Effect By -3. So Make Sure The Element gets In The Right Place. Another Thing Is That You Can Only The The Element ONCE In Every Battle So Make Sure Your Using The Element At The Right Time. There Are 5 Types Of Elements.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basic- No Symbol Next To The Element. Elemental Damage Depending On Attribute.
Consumables- These Elements Have A x# By The Name. These Elements Are Like Items And Can Heal Or Cure Status Effects.
Tech- These Are Skills That Each Character Possess. They Are Symboled With A Peace Sign. Every Character Has A Different Tech Skill Which Can Do Great Damage To An Enemy. There Is A Time Where You Can Do A Double Tech Skill In Which The Charcter + Chracter Do A Combined Tech Skill. This Does Even Greater Damage To An Enemy. Once It's Used You Can't Do The Double OR The Single Skill Again. (Yeah It Sucks.).
Summon- These Elements Are Hard To Use And Difficult In Which To Equip It In. It Is Symbolized With A Star Next To The Element. Ok Using The Element Is REALLY DIFFICULT. You Have To Make The Field Attribute The Same As The Summon. So Using Three Blue Elements Straight Will Make The Field A Water/Ice Attribute. Then You Can Summon The Element. But The Hard Part Is How The Enemies Use Their Elements To Change The Field. So You Must Be Quick At Using The Elements. Or Try Using It At The Right Time.
Trap- There Are Certain Elements Enemies Use That Can Do Serious Damage. This Is When A Trap Element Comes Into Place. If Used Succesfully You Can Actually Steal The Element From The Enemy But You Can't Use It Until Battle Is Over. They Are Symbolized With A Down Arrow Next To The Element. Usually A Trap Element Is Useful In A Boss Battle But Here's How They Work.
1. You Need The Trap Element The Same Name As The Element You Want To Steal.
2. Use It When Battle Begins. A Data Bar Will Appear Next To The Enemy Signaling That Is Has Been Activated.
3. Once The Enemy Uses The Element, It Will Cancel And The Element Will Transfer To The Character That Set The Trap.
4. You Can't Use It Until Battle Is Over. You can Equip It Then.
Its That Simple But A Bad Thing Is That Ememies Also Have Trap Elements Too. You Won't Know Which Trap They Will Put On You So Here's My Advice.
If An Enemy Has Set A Black Trap On You, Its Best Not To Use A Lvl 5 OR Higher Black Element. Be Careful What You Do Because There Are Some Elements Which Are Hard To Get once You've Acquired Them. So Stay On Your Guard in Battle.
So Thats The Lowdown On Elements. Hope This Helped!

One Feature In The Game Is That The Amount Of Playable Characters In The Game. There Are Over 20 Playable Characters You Can Play In The Game. The More The Better. Of Course in Battle They May Be Strong or Weak But The Skills And Stats Of That Character Will Be Useful In Some Parts Of The Game. They Also Have Attributes To Themselves So Know WHAT Character To Use And WHEN You'll Need Him/Her. This Way You Can Get Through The Hardest Parts In The Game.
An Interesting Feature In The Game Is In Battle. Its A Stamina Bar That Is Under The Character's Name. Stamina Is Used Up When A Character Attacks An Enemy. Every Character Has 7 Stamina Points To Use. This Is The Way To Build Up Your Element Bar. For Every Type of Attack You Do You Gain A Slot To Use For An Element. There Are Three Types Of Attacks.
Weak-Low Damage. Higher Accuracy Of Succeeding. Succeeding Will Increase The Element Bar By 1. Consumes 1 Stamina Point.
Strong- Moderate Damage. Average Accuracy Of Succeeding. Succeeding Will Increase The Element bar By 2. Consumes 2 Stamina Points.
Fierce- High Damage. Low Accuracy Of Suceeding. Succeeding Will Increase The Element Bar By 3. Consumes 3 Stamina Points.
Another Thing Is That The Accuracy Rate Of All Three Attacks Will Go Up If You Succeed In The Attack. So You May Pull Off 2 Fierce Attacks By Doing A Weak Attack. Whenever You Use Up Stamina, You Have To Wait Some Turns For It To Fill Up Again.
