Still one of the best games ever made
12 endings, an excellent cast of playable characters, and easily one of the best stories ever written, CT was a shining moment in video gaming history. Square, at the time, had pulled together the brilliant minds of the time, with the literal intent of blowing the video game industry off it's feet.
As the article for Greatest Games of All Time pointed out, this was on the eve of the release of the playstation less than a month later. At the time the PSX was no cheap price tag, and many people were left wondering what would happen to their 16 bit consoles. Indeed, the SNES was on its way out the door, but Square showed the world that you didn't need the best technology to make one of the best games of all time.
My suggestion, is that if you've been living under a rock or were not fortunate enough to experience this game, do whatever you need to do and get this game. While the PSX version is a nice addition, the original cartridge remains the best. There are many avenues to pursue in getting this game. This is a worthy addition to any library of games, and unbelieveably, stands the test of time against the eye candy of the present day. While the graphics may not measure up to the standards of the 3D now, the story is still better than anything released to date at this point.
just play it a half hour... and you might just realize what everyone here is talking about .
