Crazy go nuts

The puzzle genre is a tough one to work in. Since they’re basically simple by design, many can be found for free on the web. Just look at how many Tetris clones there is out there. What’s Sega to do for their powerful Dreamcast then to make something so new and bizarre that you simply have to pick it up and experience it. Even the game’s concept alone will take a second to sink in. The game takes place on a grid that’s full of walls, some entrances, and four colored rockets. Space mice (not to be confused with regular mice) and Space cats (not regular ones) come pouring out of those entrances. Select a panel. Give it an up, down, left, or right direction. The mice and cats will walk straight, turning when they hit a wall or go in the direction of the arrow you places. Every mouse in your colored rocket gives you one point. Every cat deducts a third of your points. There are also special ten point mice, as well as super powered mice. Get one of those, a random even occurs which could temporarily change the games speed, fill the screen with mice, and more. Got that? It’s almost one of those play it to understand it kind of things. Basically the game is chaotic. This works for it and against it. On one hand, get four friends going (since the online doesn’t work anymore) and you’ll all go crazy. But on the other hand, you could almost take a break halfway through a match because even if you fall behind, the tables can turn so quickly it won’t even matter. There are also some other fun modes as well, the most notable of them being the puzzle mode. There are some puzzles in which you place a select number of arrows to complete the mice’s path. They start easy, but get quite hard. You can also make your own puzzles and share them as well. The graphics are good enough, mostly 2D action going on. The sound works, and there’s only one music track. But it’s enjoyable to listen too, so it won’t annoy you. You’ll be too busy playing anyway. So if you’re looking for a new puzzle game to challenge your friends with that’s a lot more hair pulling then your average puzzle game, give it a try. There’s so much action you’ll wonder if it’s an action title instead of a puzzler. All you casual gamers, however, might want to look for something that won’t bust your brain just figuring out how to play it.
