A Great MMO

User Rating: 7.5 | City of Heroes: Good Versus Evil Combined Edition PC
Although City of Heroes and City of Villains are'nt as well known as MMO's like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars, it is by far one of the best Online game i've played.
The "City of .." games are set in the modern day, in a place called Paragon City (Heroes) or the Rogue Isles (Villains), unlike most other MMO's which are set in fantasy worlds.
The character creation system, in my personal opinion, is probably the most fun and creative aspect of the games, with thousands of different combinations of costumes and powers.
There are lots of different types of power sets in the game, from healing powers, to fire based attacks, to weapons such as dual blades and battleaxes.
At a certain level (14) you character can learn a special power to get around faster, e.g. Flight, Superspeed, Super Jump, Teleport.
You can use enhancements on your powers which really just make them deal more damage, increase the range, increase the accuracy, etc.
While playing, your hero/villain can join or form a team, or task-force, of other players around the world to complete missions or take on giant monsters.
Completing certain special missions, such as protecting/robbing a bank, will give you special temporary powers, e.g. jetpacks or buffs, etc.
The giant monsters are also a great addition to the game.
there are lots of different groups of enemies in the game, e.g. Freakshow, Council, Rikti, etc, who all have there own unique appearance and skills.
Your character can also join a Super Group, which is like a guild in fantasy games, your SG has a base in which you can have super group meetings or raid another SG's base, your base can obviously also get raided.
When playing, your hero/villain gains badges if you have achieved something, e.g. defeated 500 of a certain type of enemy or found a certain place.
Some bad points are ;
It is sometimes very hard to find a team of the maximum number (8).
In my personal experience when i join a Super Group there is a lot of people online but the next day no one in your SG is on.
The power list, map, character stats, chat box, etc, take up a large portion of the screen.
The missions in the game can get very repetitive.
Monthly fee's are a big downer for the game it's about £10 / $15 for every 30 days you want.
Hope this review helps.
