Sometimes, it's only CLEAR that a company was...for lack of a more encompassing word...mismanaged only years AFTER the fact; when people can look at what happened in retrospect, and are able to understand the decisions that ended up causing the company so much turmoil and trouble. But Sega? There were SO many people who could see ALL the bad decisions that Sega was making from the mid to the late 1990's WHEN they were making them, and Sega STILL either couldn't and/or wouldn't listen to their fans, and give them what they really wanted! While I'm sure Sega wanted to capitalize the MOST on having the superior software of a 32 to 64 bit hardware system of the Sega Saturn, and show off the 3D graphics that it WAS capable of; Sega didn't need to throw all of their GOOD 2D games out of the window, and not even BOTHER porting them to America, until many years after the fact; when it was FAR too late to help save the Saturn, let alone Sega as a hardware video game company by that point. While Sega probably could've survived and recovered from ONE of the mistakes they made during that time; making ALL those mistakes in a short span of time, and NOT being able to recover enough financially by the time they put their fortune draining Sega Dreamcast out on the market; ended up contributing to Sega's eventual end as a hardware video game company. And it's a real shame, because challenging puzzle games like this were a real benefit to the potential of the Sega Saturn as a potential video game hardware juggernaut! While this puzzle game initially takes its cues from "Tetris", in that if you match Egyptian blocks in a horizontal line, they will crumble; you also have to watch out for jewels, sarcophagi, and various mummies, as they can all ONLY be cleared when they are all COMPLETELY surrounded by a block! (Thankfully, blank space that is ALSO completely surrounded either by the bottom of the screen or is otherwise unreachable, doesn't count in needing to be surrounded! The graphics are good, the backgrounds, are good, the music is good, and the sound is good! And while this game is easy to learn, it's also hard to beat! The real challenge is seeing how far you can go, and how many stages you can master! I highly recommend this game to puzzle-seeking video game enthusiasts! Enough said, true believers!
