This still shines up today!
Then there's the music score, and the overall audio. Carmina Burana by Carl Orff is a really, really good choice for a theme, and al the other scores in the game are just as good, and really manage to build up the tension brilliantly. The sound effects are just as good, voices could be a little better here and there, especially Patrick Galloway's thick Irish accent sounds a little corny now and then, but then, in the end you'll hardly notice annymore because you'll be immersed in the story, and distracted by fearfull noises of howlers and other mischief wandering around the manor...
Come to speak of it the manor is a great setting and really resembles the manors from haunted movie scenes. The scenerey wich really took me in again this time, whas that of the magical city of Oneiros with its great uncanny atmosphere and strange/dangerous inhabbitants and odd noises.
Gameplay is still surprisingly good and not dissapointing at all, I played a lot of games since my first walkthrough of Undying which did a lot worse, like the "sequell" Jericho, which was a total dissapointment in my opinion, especially on the gameplay issue. Guns and spells are good and make satisfying noises. All in all, still a great game to play, though not for FPS newbees, it really takes some grinding sometimes. I would love to see this game repolished and pimped up on the graphics side, that would make a real treat for the fans of horror related game.
End conclusion: a great game with an ecceptionally good story line which still shines in 2010!
