A game with great ideas, and if the gameplay were as good as Mario Kart I would have rated it MUCH, MUCH better.
I am quite surprised it's not well known. Infact, if the gameplay wasn't so jumpy and fast it would be quite a worthy competitor to Mario Kart. Let's get into the goods and bads . . .
THE GOOD
*Great ideas - Tracks are rather detailed.
*Cool karts and characters - All have their own funny voice!
*There's a difficulty selection - Play it easy, normal or hard!
*Even though the music isn't very clear, it's quite catchy!
THE BAD
*Bad controls - I would have prefered using the L button to release my item rather than taking my thumb of B to press X.
*A lot of the tracks are just plain random.
*Graphics don't really stand out.
*You only compete against 4 other players.
*No Download Play! - If you find someone else who has this game then you are extremely lucky.
*No Wi-Fi Connection either.
*Hard to steer kart.
Overall, Cocoto Racers could be unknown for a reason. And I think it will stay that way if they don't improve in a sequel.
