The Horror Of Survival. This game turns survival horror on its head and make you have to survive to the next save point
It is great visually because it uses Renderware, so no kudos to the developers for that. It steals everything from Silent Hill and Res Evil, so no kudos for that! EB Games will take it back because I hate it - so kudos to EB games :)
What it does do well is make you play the same frickin' level over and over again until you get the sequence right. I'm a pretty good gamer when it comes to shooters and this game makes it so hard for you to shoot the gun accurately that actually 'surviving' is a horror itself.
I mean this guy is supposed to be crack marksman - best of the best and all that - and he has trouble taking down a few weary Russians on a stricken ship. Oh I was fearful alright... fearful of when the time would come when I actually had to shoot some monsters.
So that's it - some else wrote a good review about the other things wrong with this game, no map, loads between frickin rooms, no inventory - shame, Darkworks, shame.
Writing a survival horror game is an honourable task - these guys die without honour I reckon. DONT BUY THIS GAME - Rent it if you don't believe me, and be prepared to play for an entire hour, just trying to get the first part of the level right. Seriously, it took me 1 hour to do the first bit, which when I rehearsed it so much actually only takes 5 mins when done efficiently - I felt like I was beta-testing the level for them.
I'm off to look for a better survival horror game now - or finish writing my own :)
