Cold fear could be a good game. And maybe it even may seem as a good game if you see someone else playing it. But once you start it yourself, you understand that the game is just crap. First, the controls. I would say they are broken. But actually they work as they should, it is just their design that is broken. Trying all of the variants of views you may finally end up using one, which is the aiming mode, with very slow walk and limited field of view. Other views are useless. Then, the game loads a "level" after you enter any door. And what you do in this game is entering many doors. Then, aiming. It is simply impossible to aim accurately and fast. The crosshair or cursor is just a huge red spot about the size of a head. All scary moments are just joke, they are for kindergarten. I played for a while, I guess something like several levels and then gave up because of frustration due to the controls and because the game was plain boring. The verdict: an awful console port. Pity though because the idea was good, the game has some potential to be good but was totally ruined by the bad controls, too simplistic gameplay and scary effects that insult any gamer's intelligence.
