Storyline: You start off has Tom Hansen of the U.S. Coast Guard and get sent to investigate a mysterious whaling ship that killed off the first rescue squad. You and a handful of your crew go in to find out the situation until all of your crew gets killed and your the only survivor. You fight off mercenaries in the beginning of the game then unto the undead that you have to blow off their heads in order for them to stop respawning and pretty much you go from there. I think they should sent someone bit stronger than the Coast Guard not saying that they are not good but if the first rescue squad were special forces and they got killed off, why send the coast guard to investigate. I don't know but that's my point of view.

Gameplay: I think Ubisoft should of worked on the controls alot better, having the left analog to move your character from here to there can get frustrating. They should put the left analog to move and the right analog to move the camera. But all and all the controls are just fine once you get use to them. The camera can also be a problem espically in small areas. The aiming controls were kinda weird but like I said it takes some get use to. Some of the weapons aren't really that powerful as you would think primarily I stuck with shotgun and the AK-47. Especially the grenade launcher that doesn't explode on impact. I liked how the shipped rocked back and forth making it harder to aim at certain targets, very realistic. I also liked how you can get tossed of the ship if a big wave hit you or the ship starts to tilt to far throwing your character off balance and off the ship.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty descent, I like the way where you are outside in the storm and the water splashes all over the screen making it harder for you to see.

Sound: The voice acting was really bad, Ubisoft could of spent more on that part of the budget. But not all the sound is bad like hearing the thunderstorm and the sound of rolling waves made it like you were listening to a cinema. Even the music was done very good.

Cold Fear is very similar to Resident Evil 4 except for a few differences. The only part is different is it's out at sea, but it's still closely to Resident Evil 4. The zombies and the weird alien squid are similar in RE4. But other than that it is a descent game. And under $20 you can get without paying so much for RE4. So I suggest renting it before buying.
