Good fun, its kind of like Resident Evil, but on a boat.
I think that a game like this can never be regarded as a classic or a great leap forward in turns of gaming. But, on the other hand it was a very fun game to play. I really enjoyed the setting on board a ship and an oil rig, it was different to any other setting i had encountered before.
The graphics in the game are fairly good, average ps2 graphics. The weather effects in the game are very well done and looks pretty realistic when trying to run over a bridge which is being pounded by huge waves.
The enemies in the game are also quite cool, if not a little typical (zombies and bigger zombies), but they do get better later on in the game.
If i had any criticisms with the game i would have to say that it was a little to gory for its own good. Usually i really like gory games, but shooting off a head in this game was like setting off a grenade inside and elephant (splat)
It was just a bit too much.
Gameplay wise i thought the game was really good, the over the shoulder aiming system worked a treat and sometimes made the action more intense. The character movement however was a little slow, which meant that getting anywhere took a while, especially when you have no idea where you are supposed to go (which was my main fault with the game)
Overall i think that Cold Fear is a good fun game and sould definatly be rented if not bought for a low price.
Nose.
