Addictive fun - just gotta see what comes next . . ....

Well colour me pleasantly surprised. This game was a ton of fun. I wasn't expecting a whole lot and ended up enjoying this game immensely.
The premise is interesting and the story is introduced and progressed with great FMV cut-scenes. Voice-acting was great and helped create good characters you could either sympathise with or despise. Music was suitable and sound effects were pretty decent as well.
In-game graphics for the game are pretty nice and physics engine is fun. Controls are a breeze - nicely set up and intuitive such that they become second-nature to use. Only quibble is using L3 to sprint.
Nice plot structure, great mission variety with optional objectives. Good flow through the game. Excellent use of lots of checkpoints to save at - cuts down immensely on the frustration encountered on the rare occasion you actually die.
Single player gameplay is addictive - I had a hard time turning off the console while I played this - I just had to get to the next checkpoint.
Multiplayer has some neat scenarios but is hampered by the fact that you seem to be moving through a bog as opposed to running and gunning. Basically you are moving in slo-mo. Obviously the multiplayer was not well optimised for speed.
Overall - I highly recommend this as a really fun game well worth playing. I have had it in my pile for a couple years and finally just played it. You should be able to find it used for a good price. Too bad it was only released for the PS2.
