Another RTS using boring Cold War themes.Wait, Is that a Tesla Coil? And, Oh no! A Spider drone is coming right at me!
Rather, what should tempt you is the possibility of frying your enemy with a tesla coil, blow up rocket launching capital ships with a single female commando and mind controlling laser artillery with a scary old dude.
On to the facts, shall we?
An uneasy peace is mantained in the world, as the allies repelled the Soviet invasion during the events of RA1, yet this is bound to go wrong when Premier Romanov and his advizor Yuri (scary old dude mentioned above) launches a full scale attack, disabling allied ICBMs with mind control. From here, you will change the course of history.
The gameplay follows a fairly standard formula, harvest resources, build base, pwn enemy. yet it is simple to learn, and fairly addictive to boot. To spice things up follows crazy units that are quite special, not to ruin the surprize, but lets say animals in the water are easy victims to mind control.
Overall, RA2 is a fun trip through the consequenzes of a world without Hitler, and without any big flaws, this game is easily worth more than the sum of it's parts.
