I just didn't buy it this time.
But now, Red Alert 3 just is not what it was supposed to be for me. I found the factions unbalanced, the story lackluster, and the units boring and contrived.
The famous cutscenes that C&C is famous for were about the only thing they got right for this game, and why I will buy whatever they make next.
Don't get me wrong, the game was fun, but I found myself playing so I could beat the game.
It seems they have taken both the units and super weapons beyond stupid in this Red Alert. The empire of the rising sun and the Soviet Union's forces are both a joke. The Allies are the only ones that have actual interesting units.
Maybe I am just getting too old for C&C, or maybe they took it too far with the bullfrogs and Shogun Executioner in here.
Either way, I found that Red Alert 2 was a completely different game. Even Yuri's revenge was fine. The weapons were close to reality, the campaign was more relevant, and the game play was just more fun.
