Where it all started
User Rating: 9 | Command & Conquer (EA Classics) PC
I personally never played Command and Conquer when it first released. The game never really appealed to me. Recently I decided to pick up the Command and Conquer: The First Decade set after trying the Tiberium Wars demo on the Xbox 360, and what better place to start playing the series than the first game released in the series. Upon first booting the game up on my PC, this game just reminded me of a time when more thought was put into games. The opening cinematics while dated, look nice and set the mood for the game. Once you start playing the game and figure out what does what, the game becomes quite addictive, especially for a game it's age. The graphics and audio are definately dated, but they are good enough for the style of game that Command and Conquer is. The story of the game is quite simplistic, but makes you feel like you are actually accomplishing something. Personally, I am a little upset that it took me so long to play this game and I am wanting to beat it so I can try the next installment of the series to see how the series has evolved over the years. If you are like me and never played the game, do yourself a favor and pick it up. You can find it dirt cheap dowadays, and you won't regret the purchase.
