Best game on the Nintendo 64

User Rating: 10 | Conker's Bad Fur Day N64
This game is hands down the one of the best of not the best Nintendo 64 game ever made.

The graphics of this game are top of the line when considering the Nintendo 64's hardware. The colors are vibrant and sharp and the characters are beautifully done. The dialogue is synched to the lips of the characters to make them feel more alive. The art direction is an unexpected one when you consider the type of gameplay you will experience, gameplay i will explain later on. The environments feel alive and are gorgeous when need be and creepy when you reach a point in the game.

Sound in the game is done excellently as well. The game features full dialogue that is synched to the lips of the characters of whom are fully developed and have distinct personalities. The writing in the game is superb and is very hilarious. It's the type of humor that makes you laugh out loud, not just a giggle that other games have. It is extremely entertaining and just wanting to see the next cutscene is enough to drive you to continue with the storyline. The voiceovers are done amazingly well. Comedic timing is used to get the most of the jokes and each character has a unique sound to them that you will remember well after you have finished the game; it's that memorable. The music in the game is quirky in it's own right. Each individual environment has a unique sound to it whether you are in the lush central area to the pooland that you encounter very early in the game. The sound effects are done nicely as it fits perfectly into the game.

Gameplay is where this game shines. It is a perfect balance of simplicity and necessity. The controls fit the game in that it is very simple to use and they are introduced to you in an entertaining way. The use of context sensitive buttons make the game simpler to use and puts the focus more on the gameplay and storyline instead of complexity of control. Madden 2006 this is not. The story is very funny and drives you to finish because its simply too good and funny to not complete. Some people may get lost and not know what to do next because the game does not really tell you what to do next, but that just gives you more incentive to explore the beautiful environment.

Multiplayer in the game is just as fun in the single player. You have many types of objectives to play in the multiplayer and they are great too. Hell, playing the multiplayer alone with bots is still a blast! Play with friends or play alone after the single player adventure, it's all good.

If you want a game to pick up for the NIntendo 64, this is the game to get. The graphics are great, sound is amazing, and most important gameplay is amazing. This is as good as the Nintendo 64 gets so pick it up as soon as humanly possible!
