I understand why lots of people don't like this game.
now, before i get to the game, i would first like to say no, i was not drunk when i wrote this review. why did i put that there? because someone read this review and messaged me asking if i was drunk when i made this.
This game was great. Most Conker fans don't like it just because it's not dirty, violent or anything like the newer Conker games, but some people need to realize that Conker was supposed to be a series for kids, and this game was a good start for the series. But then the second kid-oriented Conker game was bummed out by Bad Fur Day, which made it an adult-oriented series. So, now this game does not seem like a good start to the series for most people. But to me, it was a good start.
ANYWAY, about this game, it's challenging, fun, and cute. I was just amazed when I saw this game's graphics because, well, this game is on a Game Boy Color, and the graphics are in 3D! and there aren't too many game boy color games out there with 3d graphics (to this day, i have only seen 2 including this one).
The plot is that Berri (conker's girlfriend) throws a surprise party for him. When they were just about to eat the cake, an ugly acorn jumps out of the cake and kidnaps Berri and takes all the presents. and all that Conker could do was sit there and cry. so, you have to take back all the presents and find berri. the plot is pretty bad, but since there are many fun things to do in this game, it makes up for that.
the controls are very simple. you use the a button to jump, the b button to throw walnuts at your enemies, and the control pad to do the most obvious thing in the game!!!! (that would be moving around)
well, this game has some variety. like, you don't just run through the levels and try to find the skag that took berri. there's also things like searching for gold in rivers, scuba diving, and boat racing. however, some of those things are controlled very poorly. especially the boat racing thing.
here's another cool thing about this game: it's compatible with both the old old gameboy and the gameboy color. i haven't seen any other game that is like that.
So, before you buy it, play it at your friend's house first since you can't rent it anymore. That is, if any of your friends have it! no, seriously. play this game at your friends house because most people that i know that have played this game find it to be frustrating. PLEASE RATE!!!!!
