Contra is an XBLA game originally published on the NES. This game for XBLA is the arcade version of the game. It's an side scrolling shoot 'em up where you, either by yourself or accompanied by an other player, make you're way through different levels, shooting bad guys. You and you're friend are commando's and start out with a normal rifle that shoots one bullet (or dot) at the time. You can aquire weapon upgrades or new weapons by shooting certain things in the area, or shooting specific enemies. The game was a huge hit on the NES. Today, it's still fun to play a session but it probably won't have you're attention very long. The real fun in this game lies in the co-op mode through Xbox Live. You play the entire single player campaign but then with two of you. Granted, it makes things easier, but the game is pretty hard to begin with. It should take you around 15 minutes to get through the single or multiplayer game. After that, there is nothing that will make you come back. Although the game won't keep you hooked on it too long, it's still a fun shoot 'em up that can be played when you don't have allot of time. You can get right into the action. It's also only 400 points, which seems to be the right price for this game.

While other can have fun with it, if you don't like retro or games that have not allot of replay value, it's probably best you stay away from Contra.
