CS:S scores big with it's big and long awaited update to the original CS that almost everyone had at least heard of, or best of all played. Either way when you say Counter Strike to someone they know exactly what your talking about and Valve wanted to continue this tradition with it's latest release to keep CS at the top of the charts. The graphics are the thing that obviously catchs your eye the moment you jump into CS:S. Whether you have a budget system or a high end system this game will still be a big improvement over the original CS. If you are lucky enough to have a high end system then you will benefit from this update the most. The detail in the areas is 10X higher then the original including moving props laying all around the area, breakable glass, fruit, tables, chairs, paint cans, bottles, etc . And thats just naming a few....and not only do you get a more active enviroment to shoot up, they've included ragdoll into the equation, which makes things look ALOT more realistic on the "dead" side of things, compared to the scripted deaths of the original CS. Truth of the matter is you'll be playing around with the enviroment for the first hour or two in each new map, as destroying things never looked so good! And people will be running by laughing at you, knowing they did the same thing the first time they got in on the action. The detail on the characters is well done, and the areas have great lighting effects and moveable objects, barrerls. Shadow reflections are crisp and look great, it just all blends very well. The sound has a more fullness to it, as technology has obviously improved since the original CS, walking sounds more heavy, guns are even more crisp. Overall its what you'd expect for sound. CS:S has great and huge potential for replayability with all the mod sites and modders out there just waiting for this to get in there hands. There are diffently going to be an increase in maps etc when things gettng rolling. There may be a few small things that need fixing, but it does nothing to hold back gameplay or looks, sound etc in anyway. Overall a game full of eye candy, but with classic substance to back the whole package up. The value is great, alone CS:S is a great buy, but with HL2 included, it doesn't get much better of a one two combo. A must have for FPS fans! And CS Fans. I played the original CS for 6 months took a break and then came back a yr later for a few more months, then got bored. CS:S really helped revive this classic, look for this game to last just as long down the line.
When the original counter strike came out,it was a instant hit. Counter strike : Source is technically a remake of the original Counter strike, that adds in new weapons and new maps. The graphics use the best graphi... Read Full Review
