The concept of Counter-Strike hit a nerve with me, the thought of going out and beating up on terrorist scum, or playing terrorist scum intrigued me. So I decided to give Counter-Strike a go. I was not disappointed with what I got. Counter-Strike is singular scenarios against the same team in the same area. The objectives are clear as day, there is no mistakes here, the weapons are reasonable facsimiles of their real counterparts, and the opponent's do react to actions that you perform. All of these things make this game a great lot of fun. The lack of a campaign is the only thing that really brings this game down. The game can get rather repetitive, it's always the same levels, same opponents, and same objectives. If you know the level, you know the objective, and the opponents only change their clothing. The various difficulty settings are the only thing that change the attributes of the opponents. This is playing a game of team deathmatch, with an objective and no respawns. These negatives being highlighted, it has not stopped me from dragging out the game now and then and throwing it in my Xbox and going an beating my opponents senseless. If you are looking for a campaign, go elsewhere. If you are looking at relying on armour to survive, go elsewhere. If you are looking for a challenge, this can be the game for you. The simplistic nature of this game is one of its attracting points.
