Good clean fun

User Rating: 8.5 | Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex no Gyakushuu! (PlayStation the Best for Family) PS
Gameplay: A simple interface allows for probably one of the shortest learning curves in the gaming world, yet still seems to allow variance within the game.
There are no firearms or explosives required here, just one genetically modified bandicoot. Great fun to learn, many interesting obstacles to avoid/destroy and some excellent level bosses. The repetition may get to some more serious gamers though, and those who've played the more progressive Crash 3.
Graphics: This is no place for subtle shades and detailed textures. This is a cartoon game - bright, bouncy, smooth and rightly so. A few people may not feel at home with it's surrealism but the protagonist is a sapient marsupial so surreal is par for the course. Keep your eyes out when you mess up and die as well, because Crash can expire in some hilarious ways.
Sound: Simple, fast-paced. frenetic jingles to fill the silence. By no means bad, but potentially annoying for some. Crash's personal SFX are quite amusing but thankfully not as insistent.
Value: Don't expect too much. The most part of the game is pretty simple for mid-teens and above but there are some serious challenges (and I mean it) for the 100%er.
Tilt: High, for the sheer fun value. Not a serious game, but doesn't need to be.
