Crash Twinsanity takes the series in a MUCH needed direction and successfully makes Crash Bandicoot fun and funny again
With that out of the way...lets get to the good stuff.
After the nightmare that was The Wrath of Cortex. It was probably a good Idea for Traveler's Tails to take a full 3 years to hammer out the follow up. Twinsanity deviates from the "Crash runs down the hallway" gameplay that was only excusable because the originals were on the PS1and replaces it with a more traditional 3D platform formula. All of Crash's attack are still intact and the hallway levels are still scattered through out the game but overall Twinsanity is paced and put together infinitely better than it's predecessor.
Another noticeable improvement is the humor of the game. Wrath still had Crash dancing around and humping the air like it was 1997, and was not funny by today's humor standards. This has changed in Twinsanity. Crash is more of the brainless mute hero that lets the other characters be funny (namely Cortex). This humor is built into the gameplay nicely. Things like Crash using cortex as a snowboard or a smack-attack, or even having multiple levels of Ball like marble simulation where in Crash and Cortex are rolling around and fighting with each other (that last one is both hilarious and extremely bizarre).
I know that Crash purist will probably dislike the fully navigateable landscapes but its really the difference between this being as boring game and a fantastic game. Twinsanity has turned me around again on Crash games and proves that Vivendi actually cares that Crash games don't suck...Thank You.
