Whatever happened to the Crash Bandicoot we knew and loved on Playstation? Second Thoughts Review: 8.5/10
Second Thoguhts Review: 8.5/10
When you see most Crash games of today, they aren't as good as the earlier installments. After coming back to play through this game again, I realized something...this is as close to classic Crash as it's going to get. It's not a simple remake of Crash 2 and 3, or CTR. It implements everything you've come to love about Crash Bandicoot and more, as it adds a free-roaming element and extra characters. The gems contain bonus content, as mentioned in my review above, and the game is simply hilarious. Now Naughty Dog fanboys may be in an uproar over some of the things in this game like, where's the warp rooms? etc. The game still has you collecting crystals and gems, so be grateful for that, seeing as they're not even in COtT. The real selling point of the game is its sound. Honestly, the voice-acting is superb. Cortex's lines are usually comic gold, and the timing is near perfect. The only problem I had were with the glitches. The music, performed by a capella group Spiralmouth is amazing. You may not believe me when I say this, but all the drums, air guitars, instruments...they're all voices. That's how good Spiralmouth is. It's 100% a capella, no lie. After playing Crash of the Titans, it made me realize Crash Twinsanity was perhaps the best attempt at rejuvinating the Crash series. Naughty Dog fanboys, you might as well pick this up. Because now that Radical has a permanent grip on the Crash license, I have a feeling, that Crash games will never get as close to awesome as this one and the previous installments like WoC and CTR.
