Twinsanity is a well made game but differs greatly from its predecessors

User Rating: 7.8 | Crash Twinsanity (Classics) XBOX
Crash: Twinsanity follows the story of Crash and Cortex, who have to team up when a pair of Evil Twins from another Dimension threaten to destroy their island. Twinsanity brings all the things we have come to love, but changes quite a bit to bring a new spin. obvious at first, the biggest is the fact you aernt playing against Cortex as you find yourself teamed up with him. linked together (the 2 struggle over a power crystal) you can perform what they call "twin moves", which almost all involve Crash using Cortex in some way or another. There are times when you also play as Cortex on his own, but only in 2 points in the game. Cortex differs from Crash as he attacks with his trusty pistol, and you have to collect ammo boxes to make sure you dont run out (except in boss battles where you have unlimited shots). Also a new player in the game is Cortex's niece, Nina. She is half robot, with extemdable metal arms. she skips and spins, but what is speial about Nina is with her extendable arms she can grapple onto rings, whihc then allow her to either climb up walls or cross large gaps that cant be jumped over. Bringing 2 new playable characters into the mix, along with the team moves brings a new, and somewhat welcome change to the game. Essentially down to it the game still is similar to the originals. Though instead of actualy levels you enter through portals, the game takes a different route, were you simp,y progress through to different areas that are matrked as different levels. as always in each level/area there is a power crystal to grab, and as always they are in the open. Remember gems? there back, only this time you dont get one gem per level by collecting all boxes. instead there are 6 different coloured gems scattered around each area/level, and getting them unlocks bonus features in the pause menu, and each different coloured gem unlocks different things (eg. blue gems unlock the boss gallery). This brings a new feel to the game, but lovers of the originals will probably find it annoying to have to search through the levels, because some gems can be easily missed. All over the storyline is solid, and as usual a bit silly. Crash: Twinsanity is a great game for all, but for those who love the originals might find a bit too much has been changed.
