Crazy indeed...
High Roller puts you in 3 different environments; a buzzing metropolis, a hilly west coast city, and a desert city with casinos and campgrounds within a few miles. The controls are easy enough for anyone to pick up and play, and the arcade-like feeling makes it that kind of game. But to actually excel you have to learn crazy drifts, hops, and all the crazy thing you can do.
But despite the fun that you can have, there are a few glaring faults in High Roller. One of the major ones is that it is arcady. You have a time limit, which makes you want more. I mean there are alternative modes and minigames, but this doesn’t fill that void. Sometimes there are people far and wide, even in the earlier stages of a level. For instance, the city based on Las Vegas, you have people down in a canyon and right in the city. People in the canyon want to go to the casinos, which is nearly impossible because there is no easy way out of that damn canyon. And there is practically no replay value. There are two sets of people that are chosen randomly. So if that first person wants to go to the yacht club, for instance, then that next person wants to go to the heliport, and so on.
All and all, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller is a great game to play in bursts, but once you have done it all, that’s it. You can still play, but there is nothing new that you are going to encounter.
