Ok , I know another FF 7 spin off, like we don't have enough of those already, but this is different. This game is utterly amazing and a must have for any FF fan. Why? Well let me tell you. This game is just plain beautiful, the cutscenes are as good as anything you'll see in Advent Children. The story is awesome, immersive and incredibly hard to put down. You just have to keep going. It is awesome to see some of the back story to FF7, to see where it all started. You hear the FF7 music all through the game and it will bring back memories of all the hours you spent loving it the way we all did. Any FF fan will love every minute of this game, the only reason this game did not recieve a perfect 10 from me is this, the DMC. Through the whole game there is a slot machine type wheel going in the corner and it serves 3 purposes. #1 is if it happens to stop on a set of 3 of the same faces you get a special limit break type move, #2 is if it happens to stop on 3 of the same number you will gain mastery over any of your spells or such as curaga. Now that in itself isn't bad but #3 is the luck of landing on all 7's is the only way you can gain levels as well, meaning you are left with going through the same dungeons again and again and again just praying that during one of the battles you will luck out with a roll of sevens to gain a level which can really get frustrating when you need a few levels to get past a boss fight and have no choice but to spend countless hours trying to get them. I think the normal leveling system would have much preferable to the one implemented in this game but on the other hand it did make it different. It also provided a reason to take on the seemingly countless side missions through the dungeons trying to level up. Which adds length to a game that is not in itself very long. The menu's are pretty intuitive if not perfect, though some of it could be a put off to a person who is not familiar to the world of FF. I say to any fan of FF this game is a definite MUST HAVE and to those just looking for a good rpg then definately give this one a try. You won't regret it. I promise.
