Out of all the Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs, Crisis Core takes the cake.

With the release of Dirge Of Cerberus, I was really fearing for Crisis Core. DoC was such a terrible game, it almost made me want to completely abandon the FF7 series all together. Luckily, I went against my urge to ignore it and bought Crisis Core after hearing all the positive comeback it received.

Boy, was I glad. Crisis Core has enough good in it to make up for DoC, and psych me for more FF7 spin offs. Yea, it was [i]that good[/i].

[b]Graphics -[/b]
For the PSP, Crisis Core is the best I've seen. I honestly don't know why all PSP games don't bother to make graphics as good as Crisis Core, when it can clearly handle it. There were times when I was playing and had to remind myself that I was playing a PSP and not my PS2.

[b]Gameplay -[/b]
The battle system in Crisis Core strays far from the original Final Fantasy serum, but in a good way. The system is much like Kingdom Hearts, in that you have a few options, such as Attack, Firaga, Cure, etc., and you scroll through them and pick which one you want to use. The random battle element of Final Fantasy is still in Crisis Core, which kind of annoyed me as I would of had liked to see something different.
However, I found the battle system to be much more enjoyable, as you have to stay active in the battle rather than in other Final Fantasy games where you can take your jolly time.

[b]Story - [/b]
The story of Crisis Core adds onto the FF7 story more than I could have imagined. Without giving any away, I can fully vouch that it is the best story in the FF7 series, disregarding FF7, topping out over even Advent Children. The writers did and excellent job with the new characters as well, making them seem as they have always been there.

[b]Replay Value -[/b]
While the core storyline has little to none replay value, there are hundreds of side missions that will keep you coming back even after you beat the game. The side missions are fantastic for portability as you can get one or two cleared when you just have a small itch to play something.

Overall, Crisis Core is a must buy if you have a PSP. It is by far the best RPG for the system, and something you have to play at all costs. Now go, but it. Have fun.
