Critter Crunch is absolutely superb. The gorgeous hand-drawn graphics are rich and the sounds the critters make are equally as satisfying. The critters themselves vary hugely to make for a challenging game - especially on survivor mode when the critters march down the vines quicker and getting a chain of popped critters becomes even more challenging. You have: flies, medium critters, large critters which eat medium ones but cant eat flies. Bombs which eat anything, weird zappy electrical critters which shoot bolts in 4 directions, blockers which cannot be popped by other critters, angels which pop all colours corresponding to the critter if pops next to....Im exhausted just writing this! There are more....
Aside from encouraging you to become a demon at reaching the scoreboard summit (excellent dynamic on-line rating refreshed almost instantly), the numerous game modes add impressive longevity to the game. Adventure, survivor, clever puzzles (100 in total and some are really difficult), co-op and versus modes all get bundled in.
I can't stop playing this terrific game.
