wake up Mr, Alexander Nesterov . wake up !!!!!

User Rating: 8.5 | Cryostasis PC
The year is 1968. You are Alexander Nesterov, who is a Russian meteorologist caught inside an old nuclear ice-breaker North Wind ship, frozen in the ice desert many years ago. This steel piece of work had many adventures, had fought for its life, but it has fallen into an ice trap and all the creatures on its board lost not only their natural look, but a right to die. The game is a story about a drama of a Captain and his Ship evolving in the atmosphere of animal fear.

Yes, I got this story straight from GamersHell.com, but it's reasonable.

The beginning of the game starts pretty slow because you start having flash backs of before you got caught in the abandoned ship. When you finally get to your first competitor, who was a passenger on the ship before it was thrashed. He becomes as a creature who is possessed, and would kill anything with his bare hands. You can throw a few unique combos with your fists to take down the creature, using the mouse and W, A, S, D keys.

What you would first notice in the game are the graphics. No matter what GPC or CPU you will find, Cryostasis will never run perfectly smooth. The system requirements are really picky when it comes to games like this. Anything you would think about Cryostasis would be either ice or cold. The way you look at the artsy textures on the doors and walls are pretty and give a nice atmospheric feel to the game.

What 1C company also nailed at the game were the top-notch sound effects, like when firing a Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle, you will hear a variety of cool sounds when playing through the game. Another thing is the nice touch of horror and survival they added to the game. It can get a little jumpy when running through a few creatures that just come out of nowhere.

The only things that concern me about Cryostasis is that blood should really be added to get a better feel of the game, the graphics need a little tweaking to get smooth FPS and performance, and they could have added more blood-pumping action to make the game more *exciting*.
