Does the acclaimed PC game's successor deliver as great of a performance on consoles as the original did on PC?

User Rating: 8 | Crysis 2 X360
I don't know how else to start this review. So, I'll just go on by saying that Crysis 2 is one of the best-looking games on consoles. That's not to say that it is as good-looking as its' PC port. Well, this is where it begins.

PROS:
The game pretty much continues the story of the first one, except you're playing a different character, I think. I've only played a demo of the first one, so I don't know crap about the story in the original game. I don't go around, telling the plot of games in my reviews, because it takes too much unnecessary time and there's a chance that it can spoil something for someone. Anyways, the setting (New York) looks amazing. The visuals-the graphics are stunning as so much detail is displayed in the game, displaying New York City. Now, from the beautiful looks, does it stand up as great shooter? Let's see. The game is no Halo or Call of Duty, as it does something unique with providing you with numerous powers like armor and invisibility and sprinting (everyone can do that. So, I don't see how it's a power.) But to succeed in this game, you must use those powers at your advantage. The game is much more fun and easier when you're using armor and blasting everyone's head off or infiltrating a facility, cloaked, and stealthily eliminating foes. The story has its' ups and downs as it becomes compelling numerous times throughout the game, but drops the plot as you advance to the next chapter, and then, pops in again later on. Oh, I'll address it in the cons. There's a multiplayer that can be pretty fun with the unique powers as you dominate. You gain XP and you can purchase more equipment as you go. Nothing new.

THE CONS:
Well, let's start with the story. It gets annoying how the plot comes in and out throughout the chapters. I just want a solid game with a solid story that keeps you hooked. Not a pattern: story, gameplay, story, gameplay. Look at how great Bioshock did it. The game still told a story as your were playing the d*** game. Anyways, the AI could be terrible at times as you zoom in and are about to snipe a foe, you see them running around in circles. It's rather odd and annoying and buggy. That's not to say that the AI isn't ridiculously clever in this game, because they are.

OVERVIEW:
The game certainly has more ups than it has downs. So, that's to say that it is a great game, but will sadly not live up to its' expectations, because it's simply...not memorable. It just isn't. The story isn't anything new with its' apocalyptic theme. The game performs great the majority of the time, despite some there-in-there-out bugs. The game looks good and plays good...most of the time, but since it's nothing incredibly memorable, I'm not going to say that it's my favorite game of the year. This game is a hit-or-miss, but if you've played the original, you'll definitely want to check this one out.
