Crysis 3 is truly a next-gen game with graphics but not with its gameplay. Fun- Easy-Short - Unsatisfying - Entertaining

When Crysis 3 started to be previewed as a next-gen, sandbox shooter with its outstanding graphics and new features, I thought It would change its course back to its origin. When Crytek told that this game would be between Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 I imagined an open world shooter with lots of side missions and character progressing. However I found myself shooting in larger corridors. So that was my first dissapointment.

What truely satisfy me is the game's incredible graphics and realistic urban and jungle visuals which are amazing to look at, even in the low settings. The textures have high definition and models and lightings are very realistic. Also each weapon is so much realistic to shoot and feels great.Especially the design and the use of the bow. Details are paced so carefully in every corner. There're so much details of a New York invaded by green and with its left alone feeling.

However, great visuals are not the only thing what makes a game. My second dissapointment was the game campaign being too short and too easy compared to the previous tittles. This time you don't have to rush through points and you fight in larger maps but your evolved nano-suit renders you such in a God-Mode that these larger maps doesn't turn in advantage of you or your foes. In Crysis 1 and 2, We could addapt our tactis to the map and get advantage of the covers and our suit to go through the points by taking the enemies. Now, tagging your enemies through obsicles and being able to shoot them with a single shot bow while cloaked removes all the need of other tactics and makes it too easy for us.

What makes the game so easy is also the poor AI. The CELL troops are more responsive and clever than they were in Crysis 2. They now walk in pairs and react when they see you However they more like fooling around doing nothing but talking. You put down one cell troop with a bow but the one next to him doesn't get into a cover or shoot to the point where the arrow came from. While the Ceph behave smarter, they also keep walking towards you and shoot all the time, instead of any tactics. Even though you miss the open area combats and boss fights of Crysis 2. (which Crysis 3 has only 2 unsatisflying boss fights)

You understand the problems with the AI when you start playing the multiplayer mode and see how real people react to a stealth hunter with a bow or a shooter coming towards you. Speaking of which Multiplayer mode is a enternatining success and you feel thrilled and competitive in each match. Multiplayer modes are really fun to play and pregressive as you level up and unlock the new weapopns. Only problem is there might be some cheaters ruining you play or too mixed level of players can't compete or contrubute with each other.

In conclusion Crysis 3 is a great game but missed of many opportunities such as a open-world map which could be limited under a nano-dome. AI could be improved such as the gorgeous graphics and lighting. A leveling system could be used to unlock new skills and the world could be used for more live assets. New and more powerfull enemies would be expected. Anyway it's still a great game to play for single and multiplayer modes, however you feel some things are missing. At the end of the story gives signals of Crysis 4 in a tropical island setting.. Until then, this should'nt be the last Crysis to remember.
