A fun resident evil-ish game!
Well it is a great time filler for those of you; like myself, who need their fix of horror survival while we all await the next installment of resident evil.
That’s how the game play is though really; it is a best compression to resident evil, without the inverted camera angles and controls.
Anyway as much as a fun game this is; the storyline of it all is really linear and dull. All plot twists are VERY predictable.
It starts off with an assassin who steals the eye of Isis from the London museum’s newest exhibit. Once the artifact if taken a curse is activated that corrupts everything and turns them into malicious beings that kill anything in sight. To add to this problem there are hired goons that want valuable artifact for their own reasons.
The character designs are average and the typical main characters. The hero with a shadow lurking over him, and the lady who stands by his side and helps him out anyway she can.
VOICE ACTING WAS SO HORRIBLE!!!!
My main problem with the whole game! When Victoria would call out to Darien as he would fall ill to the curse, you hear a "DARRIEN OH LORD!"
In a very unemotional tone of voice. Did a little acting ever kill anybody? And since this game was taken place during the 1800's in London...wouldn't there be any English accents? You’d think so, but according to this game evidently no >.>
The graphics in the game itself wasn’t horrible considering the date the game was developed in. One of the earlier games that came out for the Xbox. With all the killing going on in this story, not once did I see one spot of realistic blood.
Not my definition of gory >.> but I suppose seeing a body getting killed on the guillotines is your cup of tea. Then by all means enjoy it :P More action was desperately needed in my opinion.
All in all this is a good addition to the horror action adventure genres we have all come to love. If you need something to fill the recent void of good ol zombie slayings, defiantly check your bargain bin for this one!
