Pros:
- Graphics
- Hairworks
- Lighting
- Reflections
- Textures
- Badlands
- Character interactions/animations
- Lip sync
- Eyes follow you
- Facial expressions
- Body movements
- (All these to an extent I’ve never seen in a massive rpg)
- Rich world
- Attention to detail
- Radio stations
- Unique and believable locales
- News reports
- Immersion
- Driving mechanics (not as good as GTA, but really solid)
- Mood
- Soundtrack
- Dialogue
- Romances
- Choices
- Side jobs / gigs (Most are very thought out. They never really got old in my 90ish hours)
- Characters
- Johnny Silverhand
- Quickhacks
- Level design
Cons:
- Controller button conflict during dialogue
- Maybe I’m a moron and could’ve changed this but ‘B’ was used to skip ahead and to crouch/stand. This lead me to accidentally skip dialogue quite a bit. Really annoying.
- Bullet absorption
- No way to change appearance after initial creation
- Main story seemed a little short
- Super buggy (probably the buggiest game I’ve ever played)
- Pantless V flashing above rides
- Falling through the ground
- Disappearing vehicles
- Character is shown bald in mirrors and cutscenes when a hat is equipped
- Random quest blockers/killers
- A whole bunch more. I stopped keeping track.
- (On a high-end PC, it ran pretty well. Zero crashes but a f*ck ton of bugs. Apparently consoles were a lot worse. Here’s hoping most of the worst ones get fixed ASAP) **Edit: some of the bugs above have already been fixed
Nitpickey:
- Spammed with info and mission right off the bat. Would have preferred to be eased into it
- Car/bike sometimes can’t move into “mission” areas and would get stuck. Pretty pointless restriction.
- No flashlight
- Combat is pretty basic
- Can’t sleep in beds at safe houses (other than the one you start with)
- No vehicle customization
