Worthy for any drifting fanatic but might not appeal to average gamers.
The only issues in the game is the judging system as it has some issues on some courses especially if you pick slow cars like the AE86 and you lose points due to not drifting fast enough. Another problem is the announcers which is just a butchered and horrible dub from the Japanese version that contained the real D1 judges voices. Theres a few bugs in the game but are barely noticeable but one bug is when you accidentally hit your opponent during tandem battles and get penalized your drifting points stop raising basicly letting the opponent win that round automatically since you cannot raise your points anymore.
The engine sounds and music in the game is very generic you'll probably end up hearing the same engine sound sound or music playing in the background on every course and car. The game isn't perfect but its very satisfying when you get through the D1 series without getting knocked out of the top 16 early. The AI isnt really special, sometimes when your in front and brake too much causing the opponent to slam into you.
You can unlock D1 video clips from the real series which is pretty nice and can unlock "X-treme" mode which has you competing in stunts like valet parking by drifting into a parking space but its a lack luster mainly because there's not much to do in Xtreme mode after you successfully do the stunts.
Overall the game is a must for any fans of the growing sport of drifting and anyone interested in the sport should rent it as you can beat most of the time in around 20 hours or so.
